Students reminded to register for Spring semester, provided information on upcoming COVID-19 vaccination clinic

Dear Students,

Allegheny County continues to experience problematically high case rates, keeping the county in the high-risk category. Details on the “County View” may be found by clicking here. Continue to exercise preventative measures as you travel and move about during the semester break. Please review important information for you to know this week.

ACTION NEEDED:

On Friday, Dec. 3, the University announced that vaccination will be required as of Jan. 24, 2022 for all students, faculty and staff who are not fully remote. Full details may be found here:

Vaccination Clinic – Monday, Dec. 13

We will hold the second of two vaccination clinics as follows:

  • Monday, Dec. 13, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Pfizer first, second and booster doses.

You may schedule a vaccine appointment by clicking here. If these days and times do not work then you may contact Integrated Health 21 by clicking here or consult the website of the Allegheny County Health Department.

Spring Registration

Students are encouraged to register for spring 2022 classes at their earliest convenience, as we will soon begin evaluating sections to determine whether consolidation needs to occur. If you have a hold and are unable to register, you may find details in Self-Service. You may also contact the HUB for assistance by calling 412-578-6389.

Next Week is the Last Communication of 2021

Thursday, Dec. 16, will be the final student communication of 2021. University offices will be closed from Dec. 23 – Jan. 2, re-opening on Jan. 4.

Chartwell Dining Services Survey

As the fall 2021 semester closes, we are asking resident and commuter students to give us feedback regarding their experience with Chartwell Dining Services. Please take a few moments to fill out the survey here to help us plan for the upcoming semester. All students who complete this survey will be entered into a raffle for a gift card. Student Housing Survey Follow Up

Thank you to everyone that took the survey to provide information to help us improve the quality and availability of student housing on campus. Each student who participated and provided their email address will receive a $5 drink coupon for Frank’s Café for the spring 2022 semester. The winner of the $100 Target Gift card is Alexis Clow. Spring Registration

Registration for Spring and Summer 2022 is open in Self Service. Please take time to register at your earliest convenience. Full information, including helpful videos, are available on the Registrar’s Self Service & Registration Resources site in Isadora. To access Self Service, go to Isadora and click Self Service under Quick Links. If you are having difficulties, please reach out to your advisor, the Student HUB (412-578-6389), or Student Affairs (412-578-6293) or ) and we will be happy to assist.

Meal Plan Flex Balances Carry-Over

If you have a balance of meal plan flex dollars on your account, fear not! You DO NOT need to spend them down prior to semester end. These balances DO carry over to the Spring semester!

Reporting positive COVID-19 Results

All reported positive COVID-19 cases are reflected in the Campus Dashboard. Some have suggested we are not receiving all reported cases and thus our actual rates are higher. If you receive a positive COVID-19 test result, please contact Health Services, 412-578-6474, to provide that data and so that we provide guidance to you.

Help Needed? Submit a Care Report

With the beginning of each semester, students occasionally struggle with affordability, academic adjustments, and connecting to the community. If you become concerned about yourself or others, please submit a report and let the Care Team know about any needs, questions or concerns.
