Students reminded of Carlow’s COVID-19 vaccine policy, assets for summer session

University Communication to Students

Dear Students,

It is fortunate news that the Allegheny County Health Department continues to report low numbers of COVID-19 contractions and hospitalizations. Across the state, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has announced that Governor Wolf will not lift mask requirements until 70% of adults are fully vaccinated. Though this is encouraging news, I encourage you to remain vigilant in your prevention efforts.

New This Week:

Vaccinations Strongly Recommended, Required for Athletes and Residential Students

As announced earlier this week by the President’s office, Carlow strongly recommends that all students, faculty and staff be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. That said, Carlow will not require the COVID-19 vaccine at this time, except as noted. Specifically, for student athletes and residential students, an FDA-authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine will be required to participate and/or live in the residence halls beginning August 2021. The full announcement can be found by clicking here.

Reminders:

The CAA is Open for Tutoring and Academic Coaching

Help Needed – Submit a Care Report

We all need assistance sometimes. If you become concerned about yourself or others, please submit a report and let the Care Team know about any needs, questions or concerns. We are active throughout the year, including the summer session, and will make contact with you to help. You may also contact the Student Affairs office at 412-578-6293 or studentaffairs@carlow.edu.

Student Self-Service Update

In June, Carlow will be transitioning from WebAdvisor to Self-Service for registration and advising. A communication will go out to all with a link to the new platform once the system is ready for use. Information and instructional videos will be posted on the Self-Service & Registration Resources page on Isadora.

Have a good rest of the week and stay safe.

Sincerely,

Timothy P. Phillips, PhD
Vice President of Student Affairs & Dean of Students
