Teaching and Advising Award Nominations
Each year, Carlow students nominate faculty to receive two prestigious awards: The Max and Esther Sestili Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Sisters of Mercy Award for Excellence in Advising. The faculty who are recognized with these awards consider it quite an honor. Your thoughtful nominations are now being requested for these awards.
Students may nominate full-time faculty (both graduate and undergraduate) who are in their third year or more of teaching at Carlow University. The President will make the final decision. The recipients of these awards will be announced at the Honors Convocation Ceremony on Friday, May 6 at 3:30 p.m. in Rosemary Heyl Theater, Antonian Hall. All students are invited to attend!
Please submit your nomination by Wednesday, March 15 by clicking on Teaching Nomination Form and Advising Nomination Form.

Responding to Health Issues
As we navigate the pandemic environment, please use the following guidelines:
- Regardless of vaccination status, if you have any COVID-19-related symptoms, please do not come to campus. Instead, please contact Health Services, 412-578-6474, and/or your primary care physician (PCP) for further guidance.
When symptomatic, students are encouraged to communicate directly with faculty regarding course requirements and maintaining progress in a remote status.
Testing Information for COVID-19
Please note that any student who is exempt or otherwise not yet fully vaccinated is required to test weekly. Students may share their results to Health Services using the following confidential reporting form by clicking here! Opportunities to test on-campus will be held throughout the semester, with details shared to eligible students via their Carlow emails from both Health Services and University Communications.
Reporting test results received outside of IH21 testing: COVID Test Results Reporting Form. The IH21 testing registration for February can be found by clicking here.
Help Needed? Submit a Care Report
At the beginning of each semester, students occasionally struggle with affordability, academic adjustments and connecting to the community. If you become concerned about yourself or others, please submit a report and let the Care Team know about any needs, questions or concerns. We are active and will contact you, or those you refer, to help. You may also contact the Student Affairs office at 412-578-6293 or studentaffairs@carlow.edu.
Stay healthy and enjoy your weekend!
Sincerely,
Timothy P. Phillips, PhD
Vice President of Student Affairs & Dean of Students
