Students advised of process for reporting COVID-19 results, reminded to submit vaccination status

Dear Students,

Allegheny County remains in the high-risk zone for community transmission, though case rates have decreased slightly this past week. Details may be found by clicking here. While campus rates remain low, concern about continued spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant calls for our collective preventative actions to maintain an open learning environment.

  • Thursday, Sept. 16 @ 6 p.m. – Student Government Association (SGA) Meeting

Join fellow students in the University Commons, second floor, to discuss issues related to enhancing the student experience. All are welcome to attend!

Immediately following the SGA meeting on the second floor of the University Commons, take part in a Carlow University favorite: BINGO! Join us for your shot at winning one of our many great prizes.

  • Friday, Sept. 17 @ 4 p.m. – Hamilton Karaoke

Sing your heart out to the tunes of the hit musical, Hamilton! Join your peers on the second floor of the University Commons for this themed event you won’t want to miss!

  • Pittsburgh Area: To find information on events happening in Pittsburgh this weekend, click here. Remember, Port Authority of Pittsburgh offers $1 trips with Carlow student ID evenings and weekends. Bus schedule information can be found by clicking here. ACTION NEEDED: Submit Vaccination Status Information

If you have not already responded, Carlow University is requiring students to report their vaccination status. We need each of you to click here to submit your information. Please submit your information immediately. All information is confidential and will be gathered in aggregate form to guide University policy, prevention, and mitigation decisions. Please understand we will be following up with each student to confirm compliance and failure to do so may result in conduct review.

We have been getting questions about what to do when student have COVID-19 symptoms. In short, stay where you are and contact Health Services 412-578-6474 or your Primary Care Physician (PCP). There are different guidelines for those vaccinated and unvaccinated regarding need to test, quarantine, and isolate. We recommend you use the following CDC guidelines:

If you are experiencing symptoms that may be associated with COVID-19, please stay home and contact Health Services or your Primary Care Provider. Students are encouraged to self-report their test results to inform Carlow University’s COVID-19 dashboard. With the beginning of each semester, students occasionally struggle with affordability, academic adjustments, and connecting to the community.
