As a student at Carlow, you will have access to tutoring and academic coaching through the Center for Academic Achievement. Both services are designed to provide the help you may need to succeed while at Carlow. All tutoring and academic coaching sessions can be scheduled online.

You will need to register for an account with our online scheduling service.

Peer tutoring

Carlow has 40 students available as peer tutors. They have mastered the skills and materials for specific courses, been recommended by faculty, and trained and certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) in facilitating individual and group tutoring sessions.

Professional staff tutoring

Carlow has professional tutors, who are specialists in their fields.  They also facilitate workshops on learning and study strategies, as well as writing and research skills.

Through one-on-one meetings, your coach will provide academic support including:

  • Setting and meeting your goals
  • Developing time management and organization skills
  • Improving note taking, critical reading, and other study skills through effective learning strategies that suit your specific needs
  • Referring you to helpful campus resources
