University Communication to Faculty, Staff, Campus Laboratory School
Distributed: December 3, 2020
Dear Carlow University Community,
Below are several important updates for this week. Please note them and continue to visit our website for a complete listing of all University Communications and other relevant material that pertains to our re-entry and resiliency.
NEW UPDATE: In order to support Governor Wolf’s telework mandate and Pennsylvania’s new measures to mitigate the surge within the surge, the first three weeks of the 2021 Spring semester (January 11 – January 29) will be offered fully online – with the exception of essential clinicals, labs, and practicums. We will resume our published schedule on Monday, February 1. Students should directly contact their instructor if they have any questions. We continue to monitor the CDC, state, and county guidelines and will keep you informed of any changes.
NEW UPDATE: Additionally, the University is extending its current remote work deadline for its employees from December 31 to April 30, 2021. As previously announced, the University will give two-weeks’ notice before any type of campus return. It is imperative that we reduce our density and exposure on campus at this critical point in time.
While we recognize that employees may need to periodically come onto campus, only employees identified by their manager to work on campus (essential workers) should regularly, physically be on campus. This includes essential contractors.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: The University has shifted to a self-screening model. Prior to coming to campus, you must be registered with Mediterranean Wellness and complete a self-check every time you come on campus. You will need your employee ID to register, and the account takes 24 business hours to activate after you register. Visit Carlow’s website for instructions on registering. Please note that the employee registration URL is different than the student registration URL**.
REMINDER: All in-person visits to Admissions are being conducted virtually until further notice, and all previously scheduled on-campus events are being transitioned to virtual events.
REMINDER: With the exception of essential clinicals and labs, all classes for the Fall semester are meeting virtually.
Thank you for your invaluable investment in our University. Please continue to take care of yourself and your families and stay well.
Sincerely,
The COVID-19 Re-Entry and Resiliency Implementation Team
