Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a "campus-based" federal student aid program that provides part-time jobs to students who demonstrate financial need, allowing them to earn money to assist in paying educational expenses.  The program encourages community service work and work related to the student's course of study.  FWS is available to students who have sufficient need according to the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and whenever possible, to students who indicate their interest in Work-Study on the FAFSA.  Returning students must complete their annual FAFSA by April 1 to ensure consideration for FWS because funding is limited.  New students should complete their FAFSA by May 1.  In general, the maximum award for a full-time student is $1,500 while part-time students receive $750 or $1,125 depending on half-time (6 -8 credits) or three-quarter-time (9 - 11 credits) status.  For more information about FWS, visit Federal Student Aid at https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/types/work-study

To apply for Work-Study, complete the FAFSA and submit any documents that may be requested by the Carlow Financial Aid Office. Funding is limited, so file your FAFSA as early as possible.
