Mercy Founders Fortnight 2018

Founders Fortnight (September 17-27, 2018)

  • Founders Fortnight opens with free ice cream cones from Sugar and Spice Ice Cream Truck from 1:00-3:00p.m. on the driveway near the bookstore.
  • Voting as Mercy in Action, sponsored by the Institutes for Social Justice and the Department of Political Science from 12:30-1:45p.m. in the second floor of the University Commons
  • Explore how your responsibility to become an informed and engaged citizen connects with our Mercy values.  We will discuss how you can use your voice and your vote to influence policy for a more just & merciful world.  You will hear from students who have participated in Mercy Justice Advocacy and find out ways of how you can become involved in our "All In" challenge. 
  • Mercy Service Day, starting with a breakfast and rally at 8:00a.m. in St. Agnes Center.
  • Homecoming Weekend
  • Sisters of Mercy Pat Murphy and JoAnn Persch will join us from Chicago to share with us their work with immigrants, especially families being separated through deportation. The event starts at 4:00 pm in University Commons, 2nd floor. Refreshments follow. 
  • Reception for evening students, from 4:00-6:00p.m. in AJP Atrium. 

Throughout the Fortnight -

Participate in a joint art project, decorating images of teapots and teacups - symbols of Mercy hospitality. Watch for opportunities in The Commons, in AJP and in Tiernan.
