“The best teachers of writing are those who write,” Western Pennsylvania Writing Project. In this two-hour interactive workshop, teachers will channel their inner poet. Through first-hand exploration, engage in a variety of fun and inviting approaches to teaching poetry to students in the classroom. Discover ways to make poetry a part of daily writing routines across disciplines. Learn how to use poetry as a tool to check for understanding and formatively assess student learning. Participants should come prepared with something to write with, and something to write on!
