Do you have access to health information or a healthcare provider? Do you understand what your doctor tells you? What do you do with the information that is given to you by your healthcare provider? Do you know the next questions to ask about a diagnosis or a possible long term outcome?
This presentation will:
- Discuss the basic concepts of health literacy, disparities and ethical concerns
- Analyze the impact of health literacy on health outcomes
- Discuss recommendations for improvement
