Carlow Connections: Re-imagining Experiential Learning

April 7, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 12:30 pm

Carlow Connections

Experiential learning is central to creating transformative educational experiences.  How does the University continue to advance this goal during a pandemic?  What will experiential learning look like in the post-pandemic environment?  In this presentation, you’ll learn what Carlow has done to “unleash imagination” to create co-curricular experiences during these challenging times.

Presenter: Sandi DiMola, JD
Chair, Department of Analytical, Physical & Social Sciences

Sandi DiMola, a former Fulbright awardee, is Chair of the Department of Analytical, Physical, & Social Sciences and Director of the Center for Experiential Learning. DiMola is a founding member of Mediators Beyond Borders, an NGO engaged in capacity building in post-conflict societies.  She has served as a consultant to the Pittsburgh Public Schools on the design of a mediation plan for resolution of ethnic violence and as a project advisor in the Heinz College of Carnegie Mellon University for a graduate student capstone entitled “Developing a Tool for International Mediators by Modeling Conflict Ripeness,” which was undertaken for the U.S. Institute of Peace.
