Performances Will Take Place April 2-6 at 7pm in Carlow’s Rosemary Heyl Theatre

Pittsburgh, Pa. – Carlow University will present Every Brilliant Thing, on April 2nd through 6th at 7 p.m. each night in the Rosemary Heyl Theatre in Antonian Hall on the Carlow campus.

This one-person tour-de-force from authors Duncan MacMillan and Jonny Donahue combines humor, pathos and a joyful  view on life’s most brilliant things.  A child grows up dealing with the specter of a mother’s depression and repeated suicide attempts, while maneuvering through their own issues of love, loss, and their move to adulthood.  To deal with the situation, the child of seven begins a list of everything brilliant about the world, everything worth living for—a list they will add to through life.

The story explores joy and confusion, hope and uncertainty, heartbreak and anger, relationships and solitude, and, ultimately, guilt and forgiveness. Through interaction with audience members, the actor tells about life using their mother’s depression as a backdrop, including the effects it has on his or her life and relationships.

Tickets are $15, $12 for Seniors and Students.
