Carlow University Add New Members to Board of Trustees

 Pittsburgh, Pa. – Four new trustees have joined Carlow University’s Board of Trustees. Trustees oversee the mission of the university as it applies to academics, research, and fundraising. 

“Our four new trustees bring invaluable legal, business, and healthcare experience and expertise to our board,” said Kathy W. Humphrey, PhD, president of Carlow University. “Their shared passion and dedication to the university will help guide us forward to a promising future. I welcome them to the board and look forward to working with them to further Carlow’s mission.” 

The four elected trustees are: 

John Denny 

The founder and principal of Denny Civic Solutions, Mr. Denny previously served on Carlow’s Board of Trustees. His career has included managing a statewide presidential campaign and building an organization that aids at risk-youth. He has demonstrated success in a unique combination of professional endeavors, ranging from corporate communications to grant-making in Pittsburgh foundation and nonprofit communities. 

Maribeth McLaughlin, BSN, RN, MPM 

Ms. McLaughlin serves as Chief Nurse Executive at UPMC where she has executive responsibility for corporate and system-wide nursing practice, strategy, and vision. In addition, she has executive oversight for four UPMC Schools of Nursing, and is the Enterprise Nurse Executive for nearly 18,000 nurses. 

Jessica Priselac, Esq. 

Specializing in complex commercial litigation for over a decade, Ms. Priselac is a trial attorney at Duane Morris LLP. Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Priselac was a judicial clerk to Judge Nora Barry Fischer in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. 

Alex Rodriguez 

With over two decades leading people and teams through complex, broad, and ambiguous engineering challenges, Alex Rodriguez is the Google Ads Site Reliability Engineering Lead responsible for reliability and scalability engineering of Google’s Ads systems. Prior to joining Google, Rodriguez was the Vice President of Systems Engineering and Product Development for Expedient.
