The Carlow men’s basketball team was edged by Point (Ga.) University, 79-71, on Saturday, Nov. 5, at the IU East Wetzel Auto Red Wolf Classic.
The back-and-forth contest featured seven lead changes, with the largest, by Point, at 9. The Celtics (0-3/0-0 RSC) had chances to come back in the final minutes, but were unable to get the big shots to fall. The Skyhawks (1-2) increased their shooting percentage by 14 percent in the second half to seal their first win of the season.
Charlie Scharbo (JR/Jefferson Hills, Pa.) recorded his second straight double-double, leading the Celtics with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Rece Henneman (FR*/Clarksville, Pa.) and Jacob St. George (SO*/Monaca, Pa.) added 10 points apiece. Henneman and Zach Bryan (JR/Irwin, Pa.) each dished four assists.
Carlow next plays in the Walters Auto Classic, at University of Pikeville, on Friday, Nov. 11.
