Addiction Counseling Workforce
Impact Project (AC-WIP)

The Opportunity to Meet Unmet Needs Starts Here

The Addiction Counseling Workforce Impact Project (AC-WIP) is committed to strengthening the field of addiction counseling by increasing the number of highly skilled, master’s-level Professional Counselors specializing in addiction counseling. Funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP), AC-WIP aims to expand access to trained professionals while raising awareness about addiction and available resources in Pennsylvania.

Through AC-WIP, Carlow University offers:

  • Scholarships for graduate students in the MS in Professional Counseling program
  • Training and certification opportunities to enhance workforce readiness
  • Community education initiatives to address the addiction crisis in PA

Student Opportunities:

  • AC-WIP Fellowship – A professional development program for students in the Addiction Counseling track.
  • AC-WIP Scholars – Designed to support students in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling track.

AC-WIP is building a stronger, more prepared counseling workforce—one that makes a lasting impact on individuals and communities for the creation of a more just and merciful world.
