Nominees must have earned an undergraduate or graduate degree from Carlow University or be an alumni of the Campus Laboratory School. All graduates who are not employees of Carlow University are eligible for the Award.  

There are at least three nominees for the Carlow Laureates, and at minimum one nominee for the young Carlow Laureate award will be selected by our 24/25 nomination committee. 

Carlow Laureate Award

  • Documented Experience: Approximately 20 years of professional experience with detailed professional successes and achievements.
  • Exceptional Achievement: Must showcase exceptional achievement and contributions to the nominee’s profession, community, society, and/or university.
  • Demonstrated Leadership: Share and address how/why this individual is a respected leader and role model in their profession and/or community.
  • Mercy Core Values: Nominee must embody the mission and one of the three core values of Carlow University (Mercy, Service, Discovery, Hospitality and Sacredness of Creation) in their personal or professional life.  
  • Contribution to the University: All alumni nominees must be able to demonstrate ties to Carlow University by giving back through philanthropic gifts, service, mentorship, or involvement in Carlow initiatives.  

Young Carlow Laureate Award

  • Young Professional: Nominees must be 40 years old or younger and a graduate of Carlow University or the Campus Laboratory School.
  • Remarkable Achievement: Distinguished in their chosen profession, public or private, academic, or professional accomplishments.
  • Reflection of the University Ideals: Must demonstrate the mission and core values of Carlow University and/or Campus Laboratory School through professional and/or community involvement.  
  • Contribution to the University: Alumni nominees must be able to demonstrate ties to their alma mater by giving back through philanthropic gifts, service, mentorship, or involvement in Carlow initiatives.
