SARAH SHOTLAND is the author of the novel Junketteand the nonfiction project Abolition is EverythingHer writing for the stage has been performed in theaters nationally and internationally. Sarah co-founded Words Without Walls in 2009, which brought creative writing workshops to jails, prisons, and drug treatment facilities in Pittsburgh for 13 years. Her writing about that work has been published in The Iowa Review, Creative Nonfiction, Baltimore Review,and elsewhere. She is the recipient of grants and fellowships from the National Endowment of the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, Heinz Endowments, Pittsburgh Foundation, SFAI Equal Justice Initiative, and Lighthouse Literary Center. In 2022, she joined the faculty at Carlow University and is thrilled to be joining Madwomen in the Attic as Program Director.
