Dr. Patricia Jameson is an Associate Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychology, Counseling and Criminology at Carlow University, Pittsburgh, PA where she has been faculty for over 25 years. Her interests lie in the area of developmental psychology, crisis and trauma, individual and family counseling, building growth fostering communities and relationships, social justice action and advocacy and women studies.

Dr. Jameson holds a BA in Psychology and Theology from Carlow University. She also holds an MA and PhD in clinical psychology with a focus in Existential Phenomenology from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA. She pursued advanced training to become a National Board-Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist.

For the past 25 years, Dr. Jameson has been a certified trainer/consultant for The Nurturing Parenting Program, a nationally recognized program for the treatment and prevention of child abuse and has conducted numerous trainings, both regionally and nationally.

Dr. Jameson is the founder and director of the Aletheia Center for Healing and Empowerment, a holistic counseling center, for individuals, couples and families located in the Pittsburgh area.

As a scholar/practitioner of the Satir Growth Model, Dr. Jameson both teaches and utilizes the methods and approach of Virginia Satir, (internationally renowned pioneer in family therapy) in her coursework and her therapeutic work with clients.

Dr. Jameson’s interests lie in social justice action and advocacy to end violence by building growth fostering relationships, families and communities through the practical application of the Satir Growth Model.

An avid scholar integrating the work of Virginia Satir with Relational Cultural Theory, Dr. Jameson chairs the National Research Task Force for the Virginia Satir Global Network (VSGN). She is also the Editor in Chief of the Satir International Journal. She is the current president of the International Human Learning Resource Network, (IHRN) both organizations founded by Virginia Satir.
