Jillian is the Writing Support Coordinator and an adjunct instructor in Carlow’s First-Year program. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in English and her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education at Duquesne University in 2021, where she also minored in Intercultural Engagement. She went on to earn a Master of Arts in Literary and Cultural Studies from Carnegie Mellon University in 2022. Her academic background provides a strong foundation in writing, research, pedagogy, and communications.

In her role as the Writing Support Coordinator, Jillian helps to manage the Center for Academic Achievement’s (CAA) writing tutoring services, offers one-on-one tutoring for undergraduate and graduate students, collaborates with faculty, and holds various writing workshops. She also teaches First-Year Writing, where she is devoted to helping students grow and develop essential writing and research skills for success in their academic and professional careers.

Jillian has experience across secondary education, higher education, and professional writing. She has always had a strong commitment to serving others and creating a more equitable world through writing and education. Her research and professional interests include composition theory, race and gender studies, cultural studies, and 20th and 21st-century literature. She is the recipient of the Eleanore Holveck Writing Award.
