Dr. Rebecca Gentzel is a a Pittsburgh native passionate about teaching Computer Science to students with all levels of experience and backgrounds. She obtained her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Connecticut in 2024 and is dedicated to helping grow the Computer Science program at Carlow University.

Dr. Gentzel’s research areas fall under the category of Algorithms. For her PhD, she worked with professors from the University of Connecticut and Carnegie Mellon University in the areas of constraint programming and decision diagrams with a focus on creating a generic language and architecture to allow these to be more accessible and reusable.
