Angela has spent two decades working in academic institutions and education in a variety of roles. Prior to starting a nursing career, she worked in research, health education, and grant administration.

Angela has nursing experience in long-term care, dialysis, medical-surgical nursing, and telemetry. For seven years she worked in cardiac rehabilitation and specialized in the care of patients after cardiac interventions. Her doctoral project focused on improving communication and education for heart failure patients. She continue to pursue scholarly work in preventive cardiology, patient education, health ethics, and healthcare policy.

Because of Angela’s diverse experience, she brings a unique mindset to nursing practice and incorporates that perspective into patient care and teaching. From her first experience as a graduate assistant through teaching nursing students, she enjoys seeing the change in expression when an individual learns something new. She believes in the transformational power of education, and this is why she today is a nurse educator.
