Institutional Research and Effectiveness is responsible for collaboratively leading the development and sustainability of an institutional culture of evidence-based decision making and improvement to align strategic planning, budgeting, assessment and analytics to support achievement of Carlow’s institutional goals.

Carlow University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). Maintaining institutional accreditation is one of the most vital ways we can serve Carlow students, faculty and staff. It requires a holistic evaluation and the pursuit of continuous self-improvement during the periodic reaffirmation process. Additionally, Institutional Research and Effectiveness provides support for academic programs in achieving and maintaining specialized accreditation. To view all of our programs holding specialized accreditation, please click the “accreditation” link in the list of documents and reports below. The office also guides the assessment process of programs not holding specialized accreditation during the 5 year program review cycle.

Through the gathering, analysis, reporting and dissemination of information, Institutional Research and Effectiveness supports administrative and academic departments in working to sustain and improve the University’s institutional effectiveness.
