We are excited about our new location in the Business and Industry Center at the Westmoreland County Community College campus at 145 Pavilion Lane, Youngwood, PA 15697. Carlow is known as regional leader in adult education and remains committed to making it easy to access higher education opportunities. Since 1992, we had been located in Greensburg, and believe that our new location will allow us to make access even easier.

All Carlow students have access to the resources at Carlow’s main campus. For example, you can go in-person or via online to make use of Grace Library, the Center for Academic Achievement, the Office of Career Development and the Office of Student Affairs.

At Carlow, teaching excellence means small class sizes and a supportive learning environment which allows for a more personalized experience for you. To help adult learners, classes are offered in the Carlow Accelerated Program format one night a week, three hours a night, for eight weeks. This allows for two eight-week sessions per semester so students can double the number of credits they can take.

Accelerate Your Educational Pathway Cost-Effectively through Dual Enrollment

Carlow University is pleased to partner with Westmoreland County Community College in offering a unique dual enrollment opportunity that creates a smooth pathway from an associate’s degree to a bachelor’s degree.

Through the dual enrollment program, you’ll learn upfront how to maximize your time and your money in pursuit of your educational goals. We will help you to understand how best to transfer credits and use your educational dollars wisely.

For example, the Westmoreland financial aid package can be used toward payment of dual enrollment courses through Carlow. Additionally, you can save up to $7,740 by taking 12 credits at Carlow while enrolled at Westmoreland.

Other benefits of dual enrollment include:

  • Immediate access to all Carlow resources, including our Library, the Office of Career Development, the Center for Academic Achievement, tutoring and disability services, Oakland campus fitness center and much more
  • Opportunity to reside on the Carlow Oakland campus while attending Westmoreland
  • Participation in the same activities, clubs, workshops, professional development sessions as are available to all Carlow students
  • Carlow ID discount available for admission to Carlow fee events and other activities throughout the region
  • Access to myCarlow, our one-stop portal where students can find, among myriad communication tools, the three applications that students use most frequently: email, Self-Service, and Celtic Online where class information is housed
  • Full onboarding support

Pennsylvania Transfer and Articulation Center, also known as PA Trac or TAOC, allows community college students to complete an associate degree, then take their classes with them. Carlow is one of the few private, liberal arts schools in the region that offers this program to transfer students. Westmoreland graduates may be able to enter Carlow at junior status, and in many cases, with only major requirements to complete and core requirements waived.
