Dr. Amanda Smith serves as an Assistant Professor and the Director of Clinical Education in the Speech Language Pathology Department at Carlow University, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. With a wealth of experience exceeding 20 years, Dr. Smith holds a Pennsylvania license and is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). She is passionate about creating diverse and inclusive learning environments that foster educational excellence, promote global awareness of communication disorders, and instill ethical leadership qualities in future SLPs.

Her dedication to the field is evident through her extensive background in both clinical and educational settings. Dr. Smith has shared her expertise at both state and national levels. Her presentations have delved into topics such as ADHD, behavior management, and clinical education. Dr. Smith’s primary research focus revolves around chronic behavior management in school-based settings, showcasing her commitment to addressing crucial issues in the educational landscape. Beyond this, her research interests extend to special education programming, exploring the implications and effects of inclusion, and co-teaching models on service delivery for school-based SLPs. Driven by personal experiences, Dr. Smith holds a strong interest in ADHD. Her commitment to raising awareness and reducing the stigma surrounding this disorder reflects her passion for making a positive impact in the lives of individuals affected by ADHD.
