Carlow University offers generous benefits to those who served in our armed forces, including low-cost semesters. We also offer ROTC opportunities for students, with access to Army and Air Force programs. Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Admissions and the Registrar collaborate to assist veterans and their families through our Military Student and Family Resource Team.
Carlow University abides by the participant standards outlined in the DoD Voluntary Education Memorandum of Understanding and participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program. Military service members currently serving may opt to use Federal Tuition Assistance (TA) to fund their education.
Using Military Tuition Assistance Benefits
Carlow University accepts Tuition Assistance (TA) funds as a “first-payer” source of financial aid for students who are on active duty with the military. Students wishing to utilize TA funds must visit the education portal for their respective branch of service for additional information on eligibility, requirements, and to apply for these funds. Students must receive approval from their ESO, military counselor, and/or Service prior to enrolling using TA funds. Steps to apply
- Request and receive approval for using TA funds via your ESO, military counselor, and/or Service. Choose the appropriate branch to start your application.
- Complete application for Carlow: Create a Bridge to Carlow account and fill out an application.
- Request your transcripts:
- Joint Services Transcript — Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps and Navy; Active Duty, Reserve and Veterans
- The Air University/CCAF and the AF Portal — Air Force
- Any college or university you’ve attended (if applicable)
- File your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Using VA Benefits
Carlow University accepts Veterans Administration (VA) benefits as a source of financial aid for students who qualify either as a veteran or as a dependent of a veteran. Students wishing to utilize VA benefits must apply through the VA to determine their eligibility. To assist, we’ve developed a checklist for you (view or download the New VA student checklist).
- Complete application for your VA benefits: You can find the VA Online Application through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- Carlow University participates in the Yellow Ribbon program. The Yellow Ribbon Program provides matching funds from the Department of Veterans Affairs to supplement the Post-9/11 GI Bill®. Recipients who qualify at the 100% level for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® are eligible for the Yellow Ribbon Program.
