Mary Anne Koleny serves as the Associate Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer at Carlow University. Mary Anne is a seasoned human resource professional, with experience in a variety of industries, with the last 11 years devoted to higher education. She earned a bachelor’s degree in human resources from the University of Delaware, a master’s degree in Public Policy and a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration, both from the University of Pittsburgh. Mary Anne’s Dissertation in Practice was Race & Hiring: Examining Implicit Biases of Search Committees and their Influence on Hiring Racially Minoritized Staff at a Predominantly White Institution. She holds a Senior Human Resources Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification and is a Founding Partner of the Collaborative Center for Higher Education at the International Institute for Restorative Practices. In her desire to give back to students, she also works as a part-time human resource management instructor, effectively bringing real-world HR experiences to the classroom. At Carlow University, Mary Anne is devoted to enhancing the employee experience through continuous improvement of Carlow’s human resources programs and services.
