Walk with Carlow University’s Project SAFE, University of Pittsburgh, and Carnegie Mellon University as they unify the university students of Oakland to walk together in support of survivors of sexual assault and to take a stand against sexual violence in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Tuesday, April 5 from 1:30 – 2:15pm @ CAA: Learning English as Another Language

Is English your second or third language? If yes, then the Center for Academic Achievement (CAA) wants to learn from you! The CAA is providing an opportunity for you to share what strategies you use to be successful in your classes. The CAA is also interested in what kinds of difficulties you may have encountered, such as reading or test-taking. Come and talk with us!

Tuesday, April 5 from 7 – 8 p.m. @ Gailliot Center: Survivor Speak Out

Project SAFE invites survivors of sexual and domestic violence to tell their stories through poetry and prose. Advocates from Pittsburgh Action Against Rape (PAAR) as well as Peer Educators will be available in the event of a trauma activation. After the readings, all will be invited to participate in a candlelight vigil.

Carlow’s undergraduate-run reading series featuring local and regional writers. Email Ed Simo () for the Zoom link and open mic signup.

Wednesday, April 6 from 8:30 – 2 p.m. @ Frances Warde Hall: All of Us Research Program

To begin enrollment, go to Participant.JoinAllofUs.org. There you can create an account, give consent, agree to share your electronic health records, review the Consent to Get DNA Results and answer health surveys. At your appointment, you will have your measurements taken (height, weight, blood pressure, etc.), and give samples, if asked. All participants will receive a $25 gift card after completing their visit.

Healthy Relationship Discussion Group

Join the Healthy Relationship Psychoeducation group, an eight-week discussion group, meeting both in person and virtually on Mondays from 12 – 2:30 p.m.; Tuesdays from 4 – 5:30 p.m.; and Wednesdays from 12 – 2:30 p.m. The group will meet in person in the Peer Educator Office located in Room 411 of the Health and Counseling Center located in Frances Warde Hall.
