Project SAFE and Madwomen in the Attic are collaborating to produce Dionne’s Story, Volume 3. Dionne’s Story is named after Dionne Scott White, a Carlow student, who was murdered by her ex-partner in 2003. The Survivor Speakout will be a space for those who have submitted their pieces to have their voices heard. Submissions will explore the nature of relationships and abuse, affirming empowered or potentially empowered individuals in the face of difficulty, and will be a combination of poetry, short stories, essays, and other creative work. After the Survivor Speakout, we will hold a candlelit vigil in remembrance of those whose lives have been taken by sexual violence.
