Forum Looks at One Country’s Story of Overcoming Religious Conflict Through a Student’s Eyes
Pittsburgh, Pa. – On February 17, Carlow University Campus Ministry will present “Father Make Us One,” a Faith Forum featuring international transfer student Noel Bradley-Johnston, from Belfast, Northern Ireland, who will discuss his country’s story of overcoming religious conflict.
Johnston, who has been involved in organizations working toward reconciliation and peace in Northern Ireland and Detroit, Michigan, said, “I think there’s a lot we can learn from Northern Ireland’s story about embracing diversity, overcoming conflict, and being ambassadors for peace and reconciliation.”
“Carlow’s Campus Ministry seeks to offer transformational educational opportunities for our diverse community of learners,” said Siobhan DeWitt, director of Campus Ministry. “This is part of our Mercy heritage where we try to empower students to work as compassionate, responsible leaders in the creation of a just and merciful world.”
The forum, which is free and open to the public, will take place on Wednesday, February 17, from 4:30 until 6 p.m. in the Kresge Center, located on the fifth floor of University Commons, in the center of Carlow’s campus.
