Carlow University will welcome first year students to campus in style as professional movers and valet parkers assist the students and their families on Move-In Day, August 24.

First Year Students Move into their Residence Hall on Wednesday, August24
Pittsburgh, Pa. –Two of the basic questions for most new students — “How do I get to my room?”and “Where should my parents park their car?” — have been answered for all those moving into the residence hall at Carlow University on Wednesday, August24, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Carlow uses professional movers and valet parkers to assist the students and their parents on what can be an exciting, yet stressful, day. Carlow staff and faculty are also present to lend a hand as needed.
To keep the traffic congestion to a minimum — both on campus and in Oakland — new students have been instructed to arrive on campus according to the first letter of their last name.
Students with the last name initial between A and G should arrive between8 and 9:30 a.m.; students’ with last names between H and L should arrive between 9:30 and 11 a.m.; students with last names between M and R should arrive between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.; and students with last names between Sand Z should arrive between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
In addition, there will be a complimentary continental breakfast and lunch for students and their families, and a DJ spinning tunes to keep the atmosphere festive.
Student orientation for all new students — residents, as well as commuters — begins at 3 p.m. on Wednesday with Carlow’s New Student WelcomeCeremony to be held under the tent on the Campus Green. Student orientation for all new students lasts through Saturday with various events on campus and off.
Returning students will move into the residence hall onSaturday and Sunday, August 27 and 28.
