Pittsburgh, Pa. – Carlow University Theatre will present Lee Blessing’s comedy drama, Eleemosynary, at 8 p.m. on March 23, 24, 25, 30, 31, and April 1 in Carlow’s Rosemary Heyl Theatre, located in Antonian Hall.
With Eleemosynary, Blessing, an award-winning American playwright best known for his 1988 play, “A Walk in the Woods,” explores the intricate family dynamics of three women: Dorothea, the grandmother who has chosen eccentricity as one would choose an outfit; Artie, her brilliant daughter who has trouble emotionally dealing with people, and Echo, Artie’s exceptional daughter, who has been raised by her grandmother, and whose ambition it is to be the world’s greatest speller.
