Carlow’s Women’s Soccer Coach Named Conference Coach of the Year

Allen Duda, in his first year as head soccer coach of the women’s team, was named the River States Conference Coach of the Year in a vote of his fellow coaches.

Allen Duda Earns NAIA’s River States Conference Honors in his First Season

Pittsburgh, Pa. – In his first year as the head coach of the women’s soccer team at Carlow University, Allen Duda has been named the River States Conference (RSC) Coach of the Year.  

“Coach Duda has been an excellent addition to our soccer program,” said Carlow’s Director of Athletics George Sliman. “He is an exemplary leader both on and off the pitch, and it is gratifying to see these qualities being recognized by others.

Coach Duda was chosen as Coach of the Year after a vote by the conference’s 10 women’s soccer head coaches.  Carlow which plays in the NAIA, finished this season with a 9-8-1 record overall, including a 6-2-1 record and a number three seed in the RSC playoffs.

“I consider it a privilege to be the women’s soccer coach at Carlow University,” said Duda.  “Just to coach in the RSC is an honor itself. I am very honored to receive the River States Conference Coach of the Year Award, but this is a team award and it’s an award that our players, coaches, and administration should take pride in.”

Duda has more than 20 years of coaching experience. In 2017, he guided the Baldwin High School varsity boys’ soccer team and was named the WPIAL AAAA Section 2 Co-Coach of the Year. He also works as the Director of Elite Development Academy at Pittsburgh Football Club, trains athletes at Next Level Soccer Training, and owns and directs Duda Enterprises, Inc.

Duda, a graduate of Slippery Rock University with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and sports management, was a volunteer assistant coach with the Celtics in 2017.

Duda has also coached at Westmoreland County Community College, Bethel Park Middle School, High School, and Soccer Association; Peters Township High School and Soccer Association; Beadling Soccer Club, and Penn Hills Forest Football Club.

As a player, Duda was named a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference All-Star as a center midfielder at Westminster College and a Parade All-American as a striker at Peters Township High School.
