Jessica Webster has been named the new Head of School for The Campus Laboratory School of Carlow University.

Jessica Webster Comes to Carlow from the Hopewell School District
Pittsburgh, Pa. –Jessica Webster has been named the Head of School for The Campus Laboratory School of Carlow University.
“Jessica has significant experience in building relationships with parents, teachers, and community partners,” said Sibdas Ghosh, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Carlow University. “She demonstrates a strong commitment to service and social justice, and she is well versed in curricular alignment, assessment design, research-based interventions, and innovative teaching practices.”
Webster is completing her EdD in Educational Leadership at University of Pittsburgh. She holds a MEd in Literacy from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and a MEd in Educational Leadership with K12 Principal Certification from Edinboro University. She is a former social studies and special education teacher and is currently a school administrator in Hopewell School District.
In her role as school administrator, Webster has compiled a list of extensive accomplishments and experiences. She has co-facilitated the adoption of a school-wide writing curriculum, Project-Based Learning, and school climate initiatives. She co-created VOXER book chat on Innovator’s Mindset with a local principal to capture and support innovation. She has created and co-facilitated many STEAM initiatives, including the creation of a building-wide STEAM committee, a STEAM walk and outdoor garden space, maker spaces, a new STEAM course, and 21 new project-based elective offerings for students in grades 5-8. She has presented at state and local conferences around literacy and STEAM and Equity.
In addition, she served as District Facilitator for the Diversity Action Team and has developed a partnership with A+ Schools to implement Restorative Practices. She provided leadership for Hopewell’s newly developed School Wide Positive Behavior Support programming, and is a member of the PSBA Equity Task Force and the ReMake Learning Equity Next Gen PD professional learning collaborative.
“I am both honored and delighted to be appointed as the head of school at The Campus Laboratory School of Carlow University,” said Webster. “I have received such a warm welcome into this family of students, faculty, and parents who reflect the Mercy traditions of faith, love, and service, and I look forward to being part of this journey to create a space defined through learner-centered pedagogy and innovative practices.”
Webster is a Sewickley resident, and began her role on Monday July 1, 2019.
