Kaiser Permanente’s Daniel Weberg, PhD, RN, Will Be the Keynote Speaker

Pittsburgh, Pa. –Carlow University’s College of Health and Wellness presents the Disrupting Healthcare Conference on Monday, September 23, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. through noon.  Nationally acclaimed nursing and healthcare innovator, author, and scholar, Daniel Weberg, PhD, RN, will be the keynote speaker.

“We are delighted that Dr. Weberg’s guidance will help us challenge healthcare leaders to think outside the box,” said Renee Ingel, PhD, MSN, RN, the program director for Carlow’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and MSN in Educational Leadership. “The opportunity to integrate this cutting edge content into our curriculum is exhilarating and refreshing.”

Weberg, the senior director for Nursing Innovation and Leadership for Kaiser Permanente’s National Nursing Leadership and Strategy Team, is an expert on human-centered patient design and simulation and healthcare innovation.  He is also on the faculty at The Ohio State University College of Nursing.

With extensive clinical and academic experience, Weberg advocates for teaching clinicians to be competent in leadership behaviors, innovation, team-based care, and evidence informed practice to improve the way that healthcare is delivered in the future.

“Supporting teams to disrupt and influence positive change across systems is my favorite part of leading,” said Weberg, who describes himself as a “positive deviant.”  “I enjoy helping emerging leaders to find their voice, their confidence, and the positive deviance inside them.”

The Disrupting Healthcare Conference will take place on September 23 in the Gailliot Center, located on the fifth floor of University Commons at the center of Carlow’s campus. The cost for the conference is $40, and three continuing education credits are available for each registrant.
