USCAA presents academic and athletic awards to Softball players at luncheon

DUBOIS, Pa. - Eight Carlow University softball players earned National All-Academic and two earned All-American awards at the 2019 Small College World Series luncheon on Sunday.

Junior Abigail Stroud (New Egypt, N.J.) earned First Team All-American and sophomore Annamarie Osiecki (Erie, Pa.) earned Second Team All-American for the Celtics.

First team, second team and honorable mention each have 15 student-athletes. USCAA softball coaches vote for their top 45 picks.

The USCAA All-Academic honor is awarded to student-athletes with 24 or more institutional credits on their transcript and a 3.50 cumulative GPA.

Kaitlin Dormire of Cleary University earned Player of the Year, and Kendra Gingerich of St. Mary of the Woods College was named Student-Athlete of the Year.

Penn State Beaver's Andy Kirschner snagged Coach of the Year honors.
