Men’s cross country finishes strong at Carnegie Mellon Invite

PITTSBURGH --- The Carlow University men’s cross country team finished eighth of 10 teams at the Carnegie Mellon University Invite, Saturday, Oct. 6.

Freshman Ethan Stroebel (New Castle, Pa.) led the team in the 8k race with a time of 29:30 to place 39th of 104 runners in the field.

CMU won the meet with an average time of 26:29.

The Celtics placed eighth with an average pace of 32:46.

Carnegie Mellon runner Naveen Pai won the race in 26:11.

Other Carlow scorers were Chris Woodley (SR/Northern Cambria, Pa.) 31:27; Joseph Palmieri (SO/Pittsburgh, Pa.) 33:58; Kevin Sheehan (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) 34:05; Evan Antes (FR/North Versailles, Pa.) 34:50; and Michael Randal (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) 36:48.

The Celtics compete in the Penn State Fayette Roaring Lions Invitational Oct. 13 at 12 p.m.
