Women’s cross country finishes sixth at Carnegie Mellon Invite

PITTSBURGH – Carlow University women’s cross country placed sixth out of nine teams at the Carnegie Mellon University Invite Saturday, Oct. 6.

Senior Clare Brown (Pittsburgh, Pa.) placed 24th out of 76 runners in the field with a time of 21:24.

California University of Pennsylvania won the invitational with a 19:57 average time.

The Celtics placed sixth with an average team time of 23:45.

Alicia Belko from California (Pa.) won the race with an 18:31 finish.

Other Carlow scorers were Amanda Espy (SO/ Oil City, Pa.) 22:05; Olivia Miller (SO/Bolivar, Pa.) 23:44; Megan Horgan (JR/Bethel Park, Pa.) 25:36; Katherine Winter (JR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) 25:58; Leanne Glaub (SR/West Seneca, N.Y.) 26:36; and Gabrielle Kluger (SR/Yorktown Heights, Pa.) 27:13.

The Celtics compete in the Penn State Fayette Roaring Lions Invitational Oct. 13 at 11 a.m.
