Men's Soccer Head Coach: Marcus Pollidore
Head coach Marcus Pollidore enters his ninth season as the women's soccer head coach and his first year as the men's soccer head coach at Carlow in 2016. Pollidore led the women's team to a Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (KIAC) regular-season championship and tournament championship in 2012, and was named the 2012 KIAC Coach of the Year. Under Pollidore, the women's team has made two appearances in the USCAA National Women's Soccer Tournament and experienced three of the best seasons in program history, from 2012-2014
Pollidore, who earned his bachelor's degree from Long Island University-Brooklyn, has 20 years of soccer coaching experience, which includes college, high school and club soccer. He is very active in youth soccer in the Pittsburgh area. He currently is senior staff coach at Arsenal Football Club of PA and previously was a board member of Pittsburgh Dynamo Youth Soccer, where he also served as Director of Coaching and Player Development.
Coach Pollidore holds an NSCAA Premier Diploma, Advance National and National Diploma, and a USSF Youth License.
Men's Soccer Assistant Coach: Carl Zappa
Coach Zappa joined the team for their inaugural season in Fall 2016 helping to guide the team to their 5-9 final record. Zappa earned his bachelor's degree and MBA from Point Park University where he competed in the American Mideast Conference and was an NAIA Scholar-Athlete. Coach Zappa is also a member of the Marketing and Communications staff at Carlow.
Men's Soccer Assistant Coach: Alan Duda
Coach Duda added Carlow University to his impressive soccer resume in the Spring of 2017. Most recently he has served as a volunteer coach for Bethel Park Soccer Association (BPSA) and he has coached flights, ages 6 – 12, and travel teams for Bethel Park. He has coached club soccer for Beadling FC and Penns Forest FC. He has been the Junior Varsity and Ninth grade boys coach at Bethel Park and the Junior Varsity girls coach at Peters Township. Allen has a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Sports Management at Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock, PA. Additionally, Coach Duda runs the Duda Soccer Training academy and holds a National Coaching License through the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).
Allen grew up in Peters Township playing for reputable youth clubs, including Beadling FC, South United, and Penns Forest FC. In high school, Allen was recognized as an All-State, All-Region, and All-American for his efforts as a four year starter at Peters Township High School. He also has college playing experience at Westminster College and Slippery Rock University. His experience and knowledge of the game of soccer is undeniable.
