An overview of database management theory and practice. Students will learn the fundamentals of database application development and how database technologies can be used for competitive advantage in organizations. Topics to be covered will include database theory, normalization, entity relationships, and SQL queries. MS Access will be used for in-class demonstrations and projects. 3 credits PREREQUISITES: IT 150 AND IT 143 OR PERMISSION FROM THE DEPARTMENT CHAIR.
