This course surveys government institutions, practices, and politics and explores the role of government in economic and social affairs in developing as well as advanced industrial countries. The course considers the relationship among capitalism, democracy, social movements and economic development and provides an introduction to the comparative method. Examines cross-national comparison to gain insight into socio-political and economic dynamics. 3 credits FULFILLS GLOBAL REQUIREMENT.
