An examination of the ways logical thinking develops in the young mind, particularly as it relates to early numeracy and science concepts. Candidates assess children's development in early numeracy skills such as one-to-one correspondence and number sense, conservation of number, space, and volume, and patterning and seriation. The NCTM standards for Pre-K to Grade 2 provide a framework for designing a numeracy curriculum in early childhood.
