Explores microeconomics and macroeconomics in the United States and globally. This course will take an apolitical approach to analyzing economic principles and theories. The student will study the basic economic problem of demand and supply, look at the different types of markets and how government influences these markets. The different pricing strategies of markets, profits, and industry performance will be covered as well. The student will also examine macroeconomic outcomes such as inflation, unemployment, and economic growth. 3 credits
