We offer two degree options: a Graduate Certificate and a full Master's degree. Program Details

Overview

Carlow's Masters in Online Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) meets the technology training and education needs of the 21st century.  Candidates from all professional backgrounds are encouraged to apply to the program. The master's degree in IDT exceeds preparation expectations of the industry, and offers preparation in instructional design, technology for training or education, leadership of instructional technology departments, project and design teams or administrative settings. The degree offers an optional Pennsylvania Department of Education Instructional Technologist Specialist certification for candidates wishing to broaden into K-12 or higher education settings. The certification can be earned with or without initial teacher certification. Our online instructional design program was designed with significant input from experts and educational leaders who are experts in the field, and in industry.

Education Programs Admission Requirements

Students entering the Graduate Online Instructional Design and Technology Program should have an interest in designing and developing engaging learning environments including those in digital formats. Students must possess and baccalaureate degree and have earned a GPA of 3.0 or above. Due to the online nature of the courses, students should have access to reliable Internet connection and the supporting technologies.

Certification

Pennsylvania K-12 Instructional Technology Specialist Certification

Candidates who complete the Graduate Online Instructional Design and Technology Program can apply the 18 course credits to earn the Pennsylvania K-12 Instructional Technology Specialist certification. Additional courses for the ITS program include 3 credits in IT management, 9 credits in special education, 3 credits in English Language Learners and an Instructional Technology Internship.
