Admission Requirements for School of Education

<<School of Education Home

To be fully admitted to the School of Education, students must have the following:

  • 48 credits
  • GPA of 3.0
  • Two college Math courses
  • Two college English courses (one literature and one compostion)

To be accepted for Student Teaching, students must have:

  • GPA of 3.0
  • Passing scores on Praxis 1 Series Tests (PPST)
  • Passing Scores on Praxis Exam – Fundamental Subjects Content Knowledge (Required for all except Secondary Education candidates)
  • Passing Scores on Praxis Content Area Exam (Required for Secondary Education candidates)
  • Appropriate health clearances, criminal history background checks, child abuse history clearance, and federal criminal history records (CHRI)
  • A completed student teaching application
