Dr. Samuel Hazo |
In 2001, Dr. Samuel Hazo, well-known poet and director of the International Poetry Forum (IPF), chose Carlow as the new home for the IPF archives – a renowned virtual history of American and international poetry. Comprising more than thirty years of tapes of live readings from practicing poets, along with supporting materials, IPF resources are available for scholarly study from their home on the fifth floor of Grace Library.
Committed to introducing the community to the world’s finest poetry, the IPF has brought to Pittsburgh over 800 poets and performers – representing 35 foreign countries as well as the United States. As one of the only independent organizations of its kind, the IPF continues to enhance the role of poetry in the cultural life of Pittsburgh.
