You must satisfy all requirements of the Bachelor of Science degree in biology. The biology electives will be chosen in consultation with a faculty advisor to represent all three concentration areas. We recommend taking two additional courses in the earth and space sciences for students interested in general science certification. You are also required to serve as laboratory assistants for one semester to receive training in laboratory design, development, and evaluation. You must also meet the requirements for secondary education certification as outlined by the College of Learning and Innovation.
This biology major will prepare you for Secondary Education/Biology certification (Grades 7–12) or Secondary Education/General Science certification (Grades 7–12).
