Biography

Teya Kamel is an Instructor of Nursing where she coordinates clinical field placement and teaches Wellness in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Ms. Kamel’s Master’s degree represents a culmination of her interest in public health and education through the implementation of Healthy Campus 2020 in an urban university setting. She has collaborated with academic and clinical partners on the creation of experiential learning student internships, and has contributed to published articles and presented at conferences on the subject of nursing students’ perceptions of perioperative nursing. Ms. Kamel practiced bedside nursing and served as a nurse educator and educational outreach coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for 11 years in the field of adult solid organ transplantation. She received her registered yoga teacher certification in 2011, and has been serving in the full-time faculty role at Carlow University since 2010.
