After teaching for a time at both Carlow University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Kathy Chrisman joined Carlow as graduate admissions counselor and was later named Associate Director, Graduate Admissions. She is primarily responsible for admissions to education and counseling/psychology programs. Kathy obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh as a non-traditional student and her PhD in Social Psychology at Carnegie Mellon as a “more-non-traditional student.” She values the opportunity to assist others on their educational journeys and appreciates the many opportunities Carlow has afforded her--personally and professionally. Kathy has enjoyed learning about Carlow’s history, its founding by the Sisters of Mercy, and their roots. Her recent visit to Ireland, including County Carlow and St. Leo’s Convent, made a deep and lasting impression. It was “magical,” she says.
