Myers, Celtics shut out Penn State Beaver

The Carlow men’s soccer team defeated Penn State Beaver, 2-0, on the road Saturday, Sept. 8.

Carlow goalkeeper Adam Myers (JR/McKeesport, Pa.) made 11 saves in his first shutout.

Janvier Ramson (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) put the Celtics (2-1/0-0/2-0) in control with a goal, his third in as many games, in the 12th minute. He was assisted by Franck Kada (FR/Pittsburgh, Pa.), playing in his first match of his career.

Dan Nicolaus (SR/Gainesville, Fla.) capped the match with a goal on a penalty kick in the 85th minute. It was his second goal of the season, and second by penalty kick.

Carlow took 19 shots and put 10 on goal. The Lions also took 19 shots and put 11 on goal, but Myers stopped all of them.

The Celtics next play at Westminster College on Monday.
