The Carlow University softball team received the No. 3 seed in the USCAA Small College World Series, and is heading to DuBois, Pa., for its first round game Monday, May 14.
The Celtics are set to take on No. 6 University of Maine at Presque Isle at 4pm, at Heindl Field.
Carlow finished the season and the River States Conference tournament with a 19-17 overall record and an 8-2 USCAA record. The Owls posted a 25-11 mark and enter the tournament winning 14 of their last 15 games.
The winner advances to the quarterfinals, where it will face the survivor of the St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Mississippi University for Women, and Penn State Beaver portion of the bracket. The quarterfinal contest will be played Tuesday, May 15, at 2pm.
The loser will play Tuesday, at 12pm, in the loser’s bracket of the double elimination tournament.
The championship game will be Thursday, May 17, at 12pm.
This is the fourth consecutive year the Celtics have qualified for the tournament. They finished as the runner-up in the 2016, and placed third in 2015 and 2017.
